Sage Patent Group is seeking an attorney to manage patent prosecution for both global and local clients. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-4 years of patent prosecution experience, including drafting/filing patent applications, analyzing/responding to Office Actions, and handling large clients with global portfolios.

Sage’s clients include clients seeking standards essential patents, which can involve drafting turnarounds of less than a week. Accordingly, ideal candidates will have experience working with standards essential patents and will be comfortable managing dockets that include both short-term and long-term deadlines.

Candidates must be licensed to practice before the USPTO and licensed in at least one U.S. state. Admission in North Carolina is preferred.

A hard science background is required. A bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in a related field such as electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science is strongly preferred. Experience with telecommunications, artificial intelligence, software, and/or virtual reality technologies is preferred.

Sage is based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and has a hybrid office environment, with significant remote work opportunities. The ideal candidate will be based in Raleigh and the Research Triangle area.
