Jimmy Kim

Jimmy Kim has been practicing in the areas of patent and intellectual property law since 2004 and supports a broad range of clients ranging from larger public corporations to smaller start-up companies. He concentrates his practice on patent preparation and prosecution, conducting invalidity and non-infringement analysis, drafting formal legal opinions, portfolio management, and patent counseling work. Jimmy has worked with a wide variety of technologies in the electrical, software, chemical, and mechanical areas, including telecommunications, computer networking, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data storage systems, wireless communications, semiconductors, materials, chemical processing, and overhead doors. Prior to joining the Sage Patent Group, Jimmy worked as an Associate General Counsel for a large public manufacturing company.

Jimmy earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a concentration in Computer Engineering at Case Western Reserve University. Before attending law school, he worked as a process engineer for Intel Corporation. Jimmy earned his Juris Doctor at Rutgers Law School – Newark. He is admitted to the State Bars of New Jersey and Pennsylvania and is also registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Jimmy is currently a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
